Homework 5/27

Today in class we talked about writing letters of recommendation and asking people to write such letters.  I talked about a few websites that give you some good ideas.  The assignment is to write a letter asking someone to write a letter of recommendation for you.  The assignment is due via email by Thursday, June 6.

Here are a few useful links for you:

Homework assignment 5/21
Today in class we talked about typing tests. I said I wanted you to take a typing test each week (by Friday evening) until you can type 45 words per minute with 85% accuracy.  I've kind of sprung that on you, so I won't make this part of your grade until NEXT Friday, May 30th.  Remember when you take a typing test that you have to complete all 3 parts before it will report a score to me.

The next assignments that are due are all on the same day—Tuesday, May 27.
1. Vocabulary definitions for list 13.
2. A draft of your resume or c.v.
3. Notes from the second lecture on the blog.

Punnett Square video

The video we watched in class was this one.

Here is the video I told you about in class on Monday.  The original link can be found here.  Watch the video and take notes as we did in class.  After you take notes, fill in the left column with the information you think is important.  Then I want you to turn in your notes to me on Tuesday, May 27. (In class I said on Monday but that day is a holiday.)

To help you, here are the notes I took from the first video:

Here are the other two pages of notes:

Have fun!

I will be posting links to articles and videos that you will use as part of your homework.  Sometimes it will be listening to a lecture and taking notes.  Sometimes it will be making cultural observations.  Sometimes it will be to start a discussion.
